Looks like it's time for another Thunderbird Update :)
Tomorrow (Friday) afternoon we are doing a survey at Lake Bosworth for a possible repeater station that would allow us to service the entire lake shore. This is great news for the Bosworth community, since there is no form of broadband available there at the moment. I'll post a follow-up with the results of the survey this weekend for those of you that are waiting.
Aspen is coming along perfectly. We have strong signal throughout the neighborhood with full speed. We have around 10 installs scheduled there so far with more people calling each hour to get signed up. Coincidentally, the Tulalip Tribe's cable internet team decided to put a sign just inside the gate of the community this morning announcing that they will have cable internet available. Not sure of the date yet, just some time in the future. Competition is good for the consumer and the Cable option will provide a lower speed, higher cost alternative for residents in the area to consider.
We have been up to Jordan Hill / Deer Mountain a few times in the past week to scout for possible locations to put another main service tower. Unfortunately, the locations we had access to were not quite what we needed. We are still looking into other locations, as well as speaking to the SERS tower people to try and find a good spot. I know there are a few of you out there that can't see our gear at Puilchuck but can see other potential locations, so hang in there, were working diligently to get service to you. The right location will let us service Lake Alyson, Pilchuck Tree Farm Road and other areas.
Oh, I almost forgot, next week I am flying out to be trained for factory certification by one of our equipment manufacturers. Once that is done our team will have factory certification for all of the commercial and carrier class equipment that we use. For those of you that are curious, certification is not required, nor common; it just gives us an edge in the field and insures to you that we know what the heck we are talking about.
Until next time,
Aaron
